The Skoda Kushaq has launched in India at a starting price of Rs 10.49 lakhs.
This C-Segment SUV from this Volkswagen owned Czech automaker is a derivative of its Vision IN concept.
The Kushaq is a ‘Made in India’ product from Skoda and is the first vehicle from the brand to use its MQB A0 IN platform.
It will compete against Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Mahindra Scorpio, Renault Duster, Nissan Kicks, MG Hector and Tata Harrier.
Bookings for this SUV began on the day of the launch and, so far, Skoda has received over 3000 orders.
Skoda Kushaq comes only with petrol engine options!
Kushaq is available with two petrol engine options from Skoda’s TSI range.

The options include a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder turbocharged unit and a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder turbocharged unit.
The 1.0-litre engine can produce 115 hp along with 178 Nm of peak torque.
It is available with the options of either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox.
On the other hand, the 1.5-litre engine can produce 150 hp and 250 Nm of peak torque.
It is available with the options of either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox.
The 1.5-litre engine comes with cylinder deactivation technology which helps in increasing the fuel efficiency of the vehicle.

Apart from the standard safety features mandated by the law, the Skoda Kushaq also comes with several additional safety equipments.
The base variant of this SUV offers such safety features, which in the competition are only available in higher variants.
For instance, as standard, the Kushaq comes with Electronic Stability Control, Multi-collision braking and roll-over protection.
The base variant of this SUV also offers an Electronic Differential Lock system along with brake disc wiping.

Kushaq is available in three variants. These are namely Active, Ambition and Style.
Prices for the Kushaq starts from Rs 10.49 lakhs and goes to Rs 17.59 lakhs for the top-spec variant.

The Active is only available with the 1.0-litre engine with the manual transmission option.
The Ambition is also only available with the 1.0-litre engine. However, it does get the option of either the manual or the torque converter automatic.
The Style variant, on the other hand, is available with both engine options. In addition to the manual gearbox option, it is also available with the DSG automatic gearbox.
Skoda is offering a standard warranty package of 4 years / 1,00,000 kilometres on the Kushaq. The extended warranty increases this coverage up to 6 years / 1,50,000 kilometres.
