Isuzu MU-X Vs Toyota Fortuner

Isuzu has recently launched the BS6 compliant version of its MU-X SUV.

What’s new with this update, you ask?

Well, not a whole lot, to be very honest.

There is, of course, the re-worked diesel engine which now produces fewer fumes than before.

Apart from this, however, this Japanese SUV remains pretty much the same.

Earlier this year, MU-X’s main rival, the Toyota Fortuner, also received an update.

Unlike the MU-X, however, the updates on the Fortuner were much more significant.

Let’s dive deep into the specifications of each of these SUVs and stack them against each other to see which makes more sense to buy.

The MU-X is available in 4×2 as well as 4×4 guise.

There is only one transmission option available with this SUV that is a 6-speed torque converter automatic.

Now let’s see what the Toyota Fortuner offers in terms of its engine and gearbox options.

The Fortuner is available with two engine options: A 2.7-litre petrol and a 2.8-litre diesel.

The petrol engine can produce 163 hp along with 245 Nm of peak torque. On the other hand, the diesel engine can produce 201 hp and 420 Nm of peak torque (500 Nm with the automatic transmission).

There are multiple transmission options on offer with the Fortuner.
